PHILADELPHIA – Marissa Ewald hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the bottom of the 6^th inning before George Mason (19-24, 9-8 A-10) scored five runs in the 7^th to steal a 6-3 win over La Salle (12-26, 3-11 A-10) in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at West Campus Field. 
 
McKenzie Peace (L, 1-1) came in for the 7^th inning with La Salle ahead 3-1 before surrendering a leadoff homer to Jessica Curbeira. The righty then got Madison Aker to foul out to left and gave up a double before getting the second out on a pop out to the catcher. 
 
The Patriots then rattled off four straight hits, including three for extra bases, to surge out to a 6-3 lead. Angelina Refice singled up the middle with one out in the bottom of the 7^th but the Explorers couldn't string together a rally.
 
Reilly Gearhart made the start for La Salle, and didn't allow a hit until Curbeira singled with two outs in the 5^th. The sophomore allowed just one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three in six innings of work. 
 
The Explorers are back in action on Wednesday for an A-10 doubleheader at Saint Joseph's.
