AMHERST, Mass. - The La Salle women's lacrosse team (4-8, 0-4 A-10) was downed on Sunday by UMass (9-3, 4-0 A-10), 22-10.
The Minutewomen were in control for most of the game, taking the lead 14 seconds into the game.
Brittany Stevens scored the tie the game shortly after, but UMass answered with another goal at the 25:22 mark to give them an advantage that they wouldn't lose for the rest of the day.
Brittany Edwards led the team in scoring with three goals.
Bridget Ruskey and
Emily Johnston score twice each. Aninna Iacobucci, Stevens, and
Rachel Ceplo each found the back of the net once.
Lynne Frankel and
Molly Loughlin split time in net. Frankel mad eight saves while Loughlin had five.
The Explorers return home for two games next weekend. They host Duquesne at 7:00 on Friday as part of La Salle's spring tailgate series. Additionally, they'll host St. Bonaventure on Sunday at 11:30 AM.
