PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University head men's & women's water polo coach Paul Macht has stepped down from his position for personal reasons, it was announced on Monday.

Macht was named the inaugural head coach of both programs in January of 2016, and served in that capacity for two seasons.

The men's team earned a spot in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference West Tournament in 2017 after finishing the regular season with a 4-3 record in its second season as a varsity sport.

A search for Macht's replacement will begin immediately.
