PHILADELPHIA -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced the MAWPC Championship All-Tournament Team on Monday, and second-place La Salle was well represented. The Explorers landed four in total: seniors
Daniel Domotor and
Cole Strohson, sophomore
Callin Chimilar and freshman
Veljko Kotarica.
The Blue & Gold entered the tournament as the number three seed and upset the number two seed, George Washington, in the semifinals. Domotor had an all-around game with two goals, three assists, two steals, two exclusions earned and two blocks. Strohson tallied a goal, two steals and two exclusions earned. Chimilar finished with an assist, three steals and a kickout drawn. Kotarica had a huge game in net with 11 saves on 15 shots and five steals.
While the Explorers ran into nationally-ranked Bucknell in the championship game, the quartet still headlined for the Blue & Gold and were comprehensively the driving forces for La Salle on offense and defense.
The final stats across the two games for each honoree is as follows:
- Domotor: 2 goals, 4 assists, 3 steals, 3 exclusions earned, 2 blocks
- Strohson: 3 goals, 3 steals, 2 exclusions earned,1 block
- Chimilar: 1 assist, 5 steals, 4 exclusions earned
- Kotarica: 20 saves on 32 shots, .625 save percentage, 6 steals
