PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's basketball team will participate in the four-team "Battle at the Boardwalk" Tournament in Atlantic City, N.J., on Dec. 21-22, it was announced recently. The Explorers are scheduled to face Alabama A&M in the opening round of the event, and will take on either Tulane or Towson the following day. Game times will be revealed at a later date.

Boardwalk Hall and Atlantic City is a familiar locale for La Salle men's basketball, as the Atlantic 10 Tournament was held at the venue from 2007-12. 

La Salle and Alabama A&M have never faced one another in their histories, while the Explorers have previously played both Tulane and Towson. La Salle won its lone meeting with the Green Wave during the 2009-10 season by a 61-59 margin on the third day of the Charleston Classic in South Carolina. 

The Explorers hold a 4-2 record against Towson in a series that dates back to 1983. Last year, the Tigers narrowly defeated La Salle, 67-60, in the opening round of the Belfast Classic in Northern Ireland.
