BALTIMORE, Md. -- The La Salle University volleyball team (5-4) has added a match to its schedule this week. The Explorers will travel to Maryland on Thursday - a day earlier than anticipated - to face Loyola (4-6) at 7:00 p.m., before participating in the Towson Invitational beginning Friday. The addition occurred after Hurricane Florence forced Campbell University to cancel its tournament in North Carolina this weekend, freeing up the Greyhounds for a matchup with the Explorers Thursday evening.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
- The Explorers took home the title in the La Salle Invitational last weekend after sweeping both NJIT and Kent State 3-0, and defeating Rider in the final match, 3-2.
- Junior Devin Corah was named MVP of the tournament registering a season high of 25 kills against Rider.
- Freshman Elizabeth Osborn was named to the All-Tournament team, and was selected as volleyball Rookie of the Week by the Atlantic 10 Conference on Monday.
- Senior Jensen Sharrits had a team high of 22 digs against Kent State and is currently ranked first in digs per set (5.66) in the A-10 Conference.
SCOUTING LOYOLA
- The Greyhounds lost three consecutive matches (James Madison 3-1; Robert Morris 3-2; UMBC 3-1) in the Charm City Challenge last weekend.
- Freshman Abby Hamilton led Loyola in its matchup with UMBC, posting 15 kills and 14 digs.
- Junior Ann Ernst registered 20 kills and a career-best 23 digs against Robert Morris.
