NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – La Salle University track and field freshman Chris Lewis was named Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
 
Lewis started his La Salle career off with a bang, as he was victorious in his collegiate debut at Fordham's Brian Horowitz Invitational on Friday. The Calvert Hall product took the 60-meter dash title by finishing in 6.94 seconds.
 
That time is the third fastest indoor 60-meter mark in the A-10 thus far this season and the fastest among the league's freshman so far.
 
Lewis and the Explorers will return to the track this weekend when they travel to Bucknell for the Gulden Invitational on Saturday.
