PHILADELPHIA – In the first half of the La Salle basketball double header Wednesday night, the La Salle women's team (3-15, 0-4 A-10) dropped an Atlantic 10 showdown to George Washington (6-11, 3-1 A-10), 67-59. Sophomore

Jeryn Reese led the team in scoring as the pair each dropped a career high.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter was back and forth, however La Salle held a slight lead 16-12. Reese dropped six points in the frame for the Explorers.
- In the second, both teams traded baskets for most of the quarter, however GW outscored the Explorers, 15-11.
- GW took an 11-5 run over the first 5:29 on the third stanza. The Explorers answered with a 7-3 spurt before a media timeout with 1:55 left. Over the remainder of the frame, the Colonials outscored La Salle, 8-2, to take a 49-41 lead into the fourth.
- La Salle started the final period behind as the Colonials jumped out to a 6-3 spurt. The Explorers finished the game outscoring GW 15-12, but the run was too late.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Brown neared a double-double as she scored a career best 21 points and brought in eight rebounds. Her rebounding efforts tie her career mark.
- Reese's 14 points and 11 boards are both career highs, giving the Mansfield, Ohio native her first career double-double.
- The Explorers won the battle on the glass, outrebounding GW, 41-36. The +5 rebounding margin is La Salle's best on the season.
- La Salle also controlled the paint, outscoring the Colonials, 28-22.
- Junior Shalina Miller added to her conference leading block total, as she swatted three shots in the game. The Philadelphia, Pa. native has blocked three shots in each of the last three games and registered a block in 15 of her 18 games played this season.
