PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's soccer team will return home for a tough Atlantic 10 Conference test against league leader Saint Louis on Saturday at 7 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• Freshmen Isak Sedin and Franc Gamiz Quer tallied second-half goals, but the Explorers fell just short at defending A-10 Champion Rhode Island Wednesday night, 3-2.
• Sedin scored his first collegiate goal on an assist from senior Pat McCarthy to even the score at one apiece in the 61st minute.
• Gamiz Quer found his second goal of the year in the 89th minute off a feed from sophomore Omari Cotterell. Sophomore Brett Werner made six saves in net.

NEWS AND NOTES

• La Salle returns to McCarthy Stadium where the Explorers are 5-1-1 this season.
• The Explorers are 6-5-1 overall and 2-2 in the A-10, having already doubled their overall win total from a season ago with five regular season games remaining.
• In their last home appearance, the Explorers shut out Saint Joseph's, 2-0.
• Brett Werner was named Defender of the Week by both the A-10 and Philadelphia Soccer Six on Monday. Pat McCarthy and Franc Gamiz Quer also earned weekly Soccer Six honors.

SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS

• The Billikens are tied with VCU for the top spot in the A-10 standings with a 4-0 league mark. They are 7-3 overall and 4-2 on the road.
• Saint Louis, which has won four straight games, defeated George Mason at home on Wednesday, 2-0.
• Leo Novaes leads the team with 15 points on five goals and five assists, while Devin Boyce has chipped in three goals and three assists.
• In goal, Patrick Schulte is 7-2 with a 0.98 goals against average and a .719 save percentage while pitching five shutouts.
