PHILADELPHIA -- Senior Luke Waechter was named MAWPC Co-Player of the Week and junior Cole Strohson tabbed Defensive Player of the Week, the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced on Tuesday. Waechter shares the award with McKendree's Matthew Haygood.

Waechter is coming off of a career weekend where he tallied nine goals over three games. He also added two assists, four exclusions earned and a block. In a historic win over Navy, Waechter helped La Salle to its first ever D-1 win with a career-high six goals. Meanwhile, Strohson was an impactful defensive presence throughout the weekend, particularly by putting his team in a multitude of man-up situations with 10 kickouts drawn. In that win over the Midshipmen, he contributed four exclusions earned, three steals and a block, in addition to scoring once and assisting another.

The Explorers will look to continue momentum into the Harvard Invite this weekend as they take on St. Francis Brooklyn, Brown, Pomona-Pitzer and Harvard.
