Women's Swimming and Diving | October 2, 2019
PHILADELPHIA – Women's swimming & diving posted its updated 2019-20 roster, revealing six new Explorers to the program. The women's team remains a diverse group with a roster from around the world.
Head coach
Jamie Platt gave his thoughts on his women's class: "We always recruit potential student athletes with the goal of La Salle University being the best place to offer the opportunities for which each athlete is looking. This group of young women bring additional personality to our program. They fit seamlessly within our group. I am excited to watch them learn and grow as people, students and athletes. "
MEET THE CLASS OF 2023
Lauren Fenn
- Hometown: Tannersville, Pennsylvania
- High School: Pocono Mountain East
- Event: Backstroke
- Major: Biology
- Notes: Fenn was named MVP of her team as a sophomore, junior and senior. She won Rookie of the Year, along with breaking the 100 Back school record, as a freshman. Fenn then re-broke her record and smashed the 50 Free mark her junior year, and then set the 400 Free record in her final season. She capped her career by winning the 100 Back at the District 11 Championships.
Megan Gaffney
- Hometown: Yorktown, Virginia
- High School: York
- Event: Breaststroke, IM
- Major: Economics / International Studies
- Notes: Gaffney was a VHL State Champion her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She participated in the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and swam on the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins.
Erica Kenski
- Hometown: Carlisle, Pennsylvania
- High School: Trinity
- Event: Diving
- Major: Criminal Justice / Sociology
- Notes: Kenski received four varsity letters across her high school career. In 2019, she won Mid Penn Championships, District Championships, and finished second in State Championships. Kenski was a member of the Soaring Eagles Diving Club.
Nina Kolodgie
- Hometown: Baltimore, Md.
- High School: The Bryn Mawr School
- Event: Freestyle
- Major: Biology
- Notes: Kolodgie was named as to the IAAM All-Conference Team in 2017 and 2018, setting a school record in the 500 Free. Her team finished third in the IAAMB and were finalists in the Maryland State Championships. Her sister, Lexi Kolodgie, is a junior on Seton Hall's swimming team; the siblings will face each other on January 25th at Kirk Pool.
Chloe Lin
- Hometown: Haddonfield, New Jersey
- High School: Haddonfield Memorial
- Event: Breaststroke
- Major: Speech-Language Pathology
- Notes: Lin lettered all four years, being named Rookie of the Year as a freshman and a team captain as a senior. Her team won New Jersey Public C High School 2019 State Championships. Lin was a member of the YBCC Phoenix, for whom she was a captain, along with being part of the Erlton Swim Club. She was also treasurer of the National Art Honor Society.
Brynn Peterson
- Hometown: Hightstown, New Jersey
- High School: Hightstown
- Event: Freestyle
- Major: Undecided
- Notes: Peterson began her high school career by breaking school records in the 50 and 100 Free. She would re-break her own records in those events every year after that. As a senior, she was named Athlete of the Year at Hightstown and Mercer County MVP in swimming. She finished first in the 50 and 100 Free at the Mercer County Championships. Her swim team made it to the second round of State Championships, recording an 11-2 record overall in the county. She finished with four letters in swimming, to go with four in cross country and four in track.
