PHILADELPHIA – Rookie Emily Banashefski's first career goal was the difference maker as the La Salle women's soccer team (7-4-1, 3-1-0 A-10) defeated VCU (7-4-1, 1-3 A-10) under the lights on a rainy Thursday night at McCarthy Stadium. The win pushes the Explorers streak to three straight games.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• During the 17^th minute of play, senior Jess Shanahan sent a ball to Banashefski that the freshman was able to send into the upper left corner.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior keeper Claudia Jenkins (7-4-1) had a terrific night in net. She made eight saves and picked up her third shutout on the year.
• Shanahan moves herself into second on the team in assists with three.
