Men’s Soccer Hosts Rival Saint Joseph’s Saturday Night for Alumni Day

PHILADELPHIA – La Salle and Saint Joseph's will continue their rivalry on Saturday as the men's soccer team hosts the Hawks at McCarthy Stadium at 7 p.m. Prior to the game, former Explorers will be welcomed home for an Alumni Reception from 5-7 p.m. at the field.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

La Salle fought back to earn a 2-2 draw with NJIT at home on Tuesday.
Senior Pat McCarthy scored early in the first half and sophomore Colin Bateman tallied the tying goal late that ultimately led to the tie in double overtime. Sophomore Connor Sweeney assisted on both goals.
The Explorers have capitalized on home field advantage this season with a 4-1-1 home record thus far.

NEWS AND NOTES

Sophomore Omari Cotterell was named Player of the Week by both the A-10 and Philadelphia Soccer Six on Monday after a three-point week, including an overtime game-winner. Freshman Carlos Mora also earned A-10 Rookie of the Week and Soccer Six Defensive Player of the Week after posting his first shutout last week.
La Salle is 5-4-1 overall this season and 1-1-0 in the A-10. The Explorers have already exceeded both win totals from last season only midway through this season.
The Explorers are 8-0-2 over their last 10 meetings with Saint Joseph's.
La Salle earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 season on Thursday.

SCOUTING SAINT JOE'S

Saint Joseph's enters the weekend 4-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the A-10.
The Hawks are 1-1 on the road and lost their last two matches to VCU, 4-3 in OT, and Princeton, 6-3 on Tuesday.
Leon Maric leads the team with four goals and an assist, while Ritchie Barry has dished out four assists while scoring twice.
Joseph Boehm has played all 10 games in goal and owns a 1.82 goals against average and a .743 save percentage to go with a pair of shutouts.
