GENEVA, Ohio -- For the second consecutive day, the record books fell. Junior
Marcus Forsgren and freshman
Zachary Wolbert headlined the third day of the A-10 Championships while senior
Olivia DiStefano and junior
Carrie Horan led the way for the women. Forsgren, Wolbert and DiStefano each had individual podium finishes. The men's team sit in fourth with 280 points after 27 events behind George Washington, George Mason and Saint Bonaventure. The women rose from ninth to eight and currently have 149.5 points.
MEET NOTES
- Wolbert broke the first record of the day in the 16th event. The rookie placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 3:49.57. The time shattered Ron Karnaugh's mark of 3:53.21 from 1986.
- Forsgren took the Explorers first gold of the Championships with a 54.08 mark in the 100 Breast. That mark not only took first, but eclipsed Johan Roth's time of 54.96 in 2015.
- DiStefano took the only women's podium finish with a third place time of 55.21 in the 100 Back. Horan also had a good finish, touching sixth in the 100 Breast.
- The one top-three team finish came in the 400 Medley Relay. Freshman Ian Venter, Forsgren, Wolbert, and junior Norm Gregory combined to clock in at 3:16.14.

- The Explorers will attack the final day of the Championships with more records possible to fall. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6:30 p.m.
