PHILADELPHIA -- Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving concluded the A-10 Championships with one more edit to the record book as freshman
Zachary Wolbert set A-10 Conference and Meet records in the 200 Fly. Overall, the men's team finished fifth with a score of 373, a distance behind first-place George Washington at 782 points. The women trended in the right direction and ended up seventh with 232.5 points, trailing first-place-Duquesne's score of 580.5.
MEET NOTES
- Wolbert grabbed headlines with his stellar time of 1:46.86 in the 200 Fly. That mark sets an A-10 record as well as a La Salle record. Previously, the record had been set 32 years ago by M. Chris Cummings with a time of 1:48.61 in 1987.
- The Men's 400 Free relay finished with a time of 2:59.02, second best in school history, to claim bronze in the event.
- Those were the two podium times for the Explorers on the day. Other notable finishes include Forsgren's fourth-place result in the 100 Free clocking at 44.87.
- The women had plenty of strong times on the last day. Junior Carrie Horan placed fifth in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:16.26 and freshman Phoebe Shaya sprung to sixth in the 3-meter dive with 273.00 points. The women's 400 Free of freshmen Sara Rizzetto, Anne Moser and Sarah Wyant, anchored by senior Olivia DiStefano placed seventh with a time of 3:27.48.
