La Salle, Saint Joseph's Square Off in Big 5 Matchup at Gola Arena on Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's basketball team will be in search of its fourth straight win on Tuesday evening as it hosts Saint Joseph's in a Big 5 rivalry game at Tom Gola Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with the Voice of the Explorers Kale Beers and Rich Prendergast calling the action. An audio broadcast is also available on the TuneIn Radio App and via Stretch Internet.

NEWS & NOTES
•The Explorers picked up their third consecutive victory on Saturday night in Richmond, overcoming a nine-point second half deficit on the way to a 66-58 triumph.
•Freshman Ed Croswell was a force underneath in the second half, registering 12 of his game-high 16 rebounds after intermission to go along with nine points, three assists and two steals.
•Croswell's rebounding output in a single game tied him with VCU's Marcus Santos-Silva for the second-most by an Atlantic 10 player this season (Cyril Langevine (URI) had 17 vs. Brown).
•The game was just the 13th in NCAA Division I college basketball this season in which an individual has recorded at least 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
•Graduate student Pookie Powell tallied 18 points, including a pair of three-pointers in the second half that helped the Explorers come back.
•The 41-30 edge in the rebounding battle tied for the highest margin in a single-game this season for La Salle (vs. Bucknell +11 - 43-32).

SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
•The Hawks are coming off a 64-62 win over Massachusetts on Saturday, winning in spite of shooting 29.2 percent from the field in the second half.
•Charlie Brown Jr. led Saint Joseph's with 20 points in the game against the Minutemen, and is averaging 20.0 points per game to lead the Atlantic 10 and rank 43rd nationally.
•Brown ranks in the A-10's top 20 in scoring, rebounding (5.5/game), free-throw percentage (83.8%), three-point field goal percentage (38.1%) and minutes played (35.2/game).
•The Hawks have been without the services of Lamarr Kimble (16.3 ppg) and Pierfrancesco Oliva (3.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg), both of whom have been out with injuries.
•Freshman guard Jared Bynum is ranked fifth in the Atlantic 10 in assists at 4.4 per game.

PHILADELPHIA BIG 5 UPDATE
•La Salle and Saint Joseph's will play the final Philly Big 5 game of the season at Tom Gola Arena on Tuesday night.
•The Explorers and Hawks are each 0-3 on the year, having dropped contests to Villanova, Penn and Temple.
•Last season, SJU earned a 78-70 win over La Salle in the regular-season finale, which was marked as the Big 5 contest -- the two teams play twice each year as Atlantic 10 rivals.
•Penn earned its first Big 5 title since 2001-02 by virtue of a 4-0 record against city schools.

ROAD WARRIORS
•La Salle went on the road to win its third straight Atlantic 10 contest on Saturday, defeating Richmond, 66-58, at Robins Center.
•The Explorers have already eclipsed last year's road win total (2-10) and their 3-1 Atlantic 10 road record this season is tied with Davidson (3-1) and Dayton (3-1) for second-best in the league (George Mason - 4-1).

CROSWELL CORRALS REBOUNDS
•Freshman Ed Croswell has had a number of standout games already this season, including his most recent outing at Richmond on Feb. 2.
•Croswell grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against the Spiders, including 12 in the second half. 
•The 16 boards are the most for an individual in an Atlantic 10 game and tied for the second-most by an A-10 player this season (16, Marcus Santos-Silva, VCU at Texas, 12/5/18).
•URI's Cyril Langevine had 17 rebounds against Brown on Nov. 28, 2018.
•Against UMass three days prior, Croswell just missed out on his second double-double of the year with nine points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.
•The Philadelphia native matched his season high with 11 points against VCU on Jan. 9, and added a team-high seven rebounds, four of which were offensive.
•Earlier in the year, Croswell pulled down an impressive 10 offensive boards against Bucknell.
•The 6-8 forward leads the team in rebounding on the season at 5.9 per contest, including 2.8 offensive rebounds a game (5th in A-10).
