PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University baseball team will square off against Philadelphia Big 5 foe Villanova this weekend in a split series. Villanova will host Friday and Sunday's games in Plymouth Meeting at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth, while the Explorers will host Saturday's contest at Hank DeVincent Field.

EXPLORERS GET BACK-TO-BACK WINS
- La Salle racked up double-digit hits in each of its two games this week, rolling past Saint Peter's on Tuesday, 14-4, and then holding off Delaware State on Wednesday, 7-4.
- On Tuesday against Saint Peter's, senior Kevin McGowan and junior Ryan Guckin were responsible for 11 of the Explorers' 14 runs as the two combined for eight RBIs and five runs.
- Sophomore Mike Jenkins earned his first career win, scattering four runs over five innings, and the bullpen threw four scoreless innings of relief to lock up the 14-4 win.
- In Wednesday's win over Delaware State, senior Ben Faso delivered two clutch doubles and drove in three runs to guide the Explorers to their fourth road victory.
- Senior Greg Paprocki tossed four shutout innings with just one hit and six strikeouts, while McGowan went 3-for-4 with a double and a run, helping La Salle improve to 9-6 on the year.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
- The Wildcats have gotten off to a slow start, entering the weekend with a 3-13 record overall, while they are 0-3 on the road and 0-2 at home.
- Villanova dropped a pair of contests to Navy earlier this week, 5-1 and 14-3. Before that, the Wildcats split a two-game series with Central Michigan.
- Nick Lorusso leads the team with a .367 batting average to go with a .530 on-base percentage and 10 RBIs. Meanwhile, Dylan McNary is batting .358 with 12 runs.
- On the mound, game one projected starter Zach Lutner is 0-1 and has allowed 12 runs over 4.1 innings. Game two projected starter Gordon Graceffo has a 5.30 ERA, while game three projected starter Jimmy Kingsbury leads the team with a 2-1 record and 23 strikeouts to go with a 5.67 ERA.
