ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Despite jumping out to a two-run lead in the first inning, the La Salle softball team (5-15) fell at Saint Louis (8-17) Sunday afternoon, 11-2, in five innings to complete the series.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
	- La Salle jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as junior Courtney Shupp sent a two-run single to left center, driving in freshman Mack Bernhard and sophomore Ashley Mendenhall.
- Saint Louis scored four runs in the third and fourth innings to jump out to an 8-2 lead.
- The Billikens took the win with a three-run fifth inning.
INSIDE THE CIRCLE:
	- Freshman Cailey Joyce (3-5) picks up her fifth loss on the season, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing 11 earned runs on 15 hits and one walk. Joyce struck out one on the afternoon.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
	- La Salle finished with six hits on the day, led by freshmen Audrey LaBouliere. The rookie went 2-for-2 with a double.
- Shupp ended the day 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
- Mendenhall was 1-for-3 with a double and run scored.
- Sophomore Deanna Pineiro and freshman Mackenzie Vogler each finished 1-for-2, with Vogler reaching on a double.
- Freshmen Mack Bernhard reached base on a walk and scored a run.
