PHILADELPHIA – After getting back in the win column on Wednesday, the La Salle University baseball team will host Quinnipiac at Hank DeVincent Field for a three-game series this weekend.

BATS COME ALIVE IN BIG HOME WIN
- The Explorers put up 16 hits en route to a 13-4 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday.
- Senior Ben Faso hit his fifth home run of the season and drove in four runs. Meanwhile fellow seniors Peyton Sorrels (3-for-4, 2 R, 3B, SB, BB) and Kevin McGowan (1-for-2, 3 R, 3 BB) also had impressive games at the dish.
HINCHLIFFE LANDS ON GOLDEN SPIKES AWARD WATCH LIST
- Senior right-handed pitcher Connor Hinchliffe was one of 40 players named to USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list this week.
- Hinchliffe is among the national leaders with eight saves and boasts a 1.66 ERA with 32 strikeouts over 21.2 innings on the mound.
NEWS AND NOTES
- Senior Peyton Sorrels enters the weekend on a seven-game hit streak, while sophomore Tommy Toal has reached base safely in 20 straight games.
- La Salle already has more total wins (16) and home wins (9) than it did all of last season.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
- The Bobcats enter the weekend with a 13-17 overall record and has been strong in the MAAC with a 7-2 conference mark.
- Quinnipiac is 9-10 on the road and fell at Boston College, 11-5, on Wednesday after picking up at 10-3 win at Hartford on Tuesday.
- Andrew Marrero leads the team with a 3.18 average, 24 runs, five homers and 22 RBIs. Evan Vulgamore is batting .315 with 11 doubles and 21 runs scored.
- Projected starters Tyler Poulin (4-2, 3.78 ERA), Chris Enns (2-4, 4.91 ERA) and Arthur Correira (2-1, 3.41 ERA) anchor the Bobcats' rotation. Quinnipiac has a team ERA of 5.35 and a team batting average of .268.
