PHILADELPHIA -- Two Explorers have been recognized as part of the Philadelphia Inquirer's 2018-19 Academic All-Area Swimming and Diving Teams. Junior
Emily Wolbert was listed on the women's team; the Integrated Science, Business and Technology major has recorded a 3.57 GPA to date. On the men's team, senior
Aleksandar Nikolic made the cut. The Nis, Serbia native has accrued a 3.71 GPA while majoring in Accounting. This past 2018-19 season, Wolbert notably won events in meets against Rhode Island, Lehigh and Loyola. Nikolic's most recent in-the-pool highlights include a third-place finish at the A-10 Championships as part of the 800 Free Relay and individual victories against Mount St. Mary's and Drexel.
The teams are nominated and voted on by sports information offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. To be considered, student-athletes must have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA.
