NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Sophomore
Dennis Manyeah of the La Salle University men's track and field team was named Atlantic 10 Conference Field Performer of the Week on Tuesday.
La Salle has now collected men's weekly honors from the A-10 in each of its first four weeks of the outdoor season, with five honors in total. Manyeah joins
Chris Lewis (3/26, 4/2),
Anthony Hawthorne (4/2) and
Darian Alston (4/9) as weekly honorees this outdoor season. The Explorers have also taken the top field honor in back-to-back weeks with Alston and now Manyeah.
Manyeah won the high jump at the Mason Spring Invitational on Saturday. He defeated 10 other individuals, including a number of A-10 competitors, with a winning leap of 2.09 meters (6'10.25"). In his first year with the team after attending Eastern Michigan as a freshman, Manyeah now holds the top high jump mark in the Atlantic 10 so far this year.
