PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University rowing teams posted a pair of wins over Iona on Friday, with both the men's and women's varsity eight boats bettering the fields in their respective races.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The men's varsity eight and second varsity eight scored the two fastest times of the lone 2000m race against the Gaels, driving through choppy conditions to finish in 6:35.7 and 6:44.4, respectively.
• The women's eight-plus crew crossed the line just over seven seconds in front of Iona's group.
• Two four-plus boats also hit the water for the Explorers, with Iona earning victories in both of those races.

• A quick turnaround for the Explorers, as the Kerr Cup is set for Saturday, April 20 on the Schuylkill River. Racing begins at 9:30 a.m.
