EXPLORERS SPLIT MIDWEEK MATCHUPS
  • The Explorers racked up season highs in runs (24) and hits (23) in Tuesday's 24-7 win over Saint Peter's.
  • It was the most runs scored in a single game by the Explorers since the 1999 season.
  • Junior Ryan Guckin hit two home runs and drove in six runs, while senior Peyton Sorrels also went yard. Seven Explorers had multi-hit games, including four hits apiece by Sorrels, senior Ben Faso and freshman Tatem Levins.
  • La Salle looked to be on its way to back-to-back wins, holding leads of 5-1 and 7-4 at Bucknell on Wednesday. But the Bison scored five unearned runs in the seventh inning to steal the win.
  • Sorrels posted his second straight four-hit game in the defeat, while senior Kevin McGowan tallied three RBIs.
HINCHLIFFE LANDS ON ANOTHER WATCH LIST
  • Senior right-hander Connor Hinchliffe was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Award midseason watch list on Wednesday.
  • It's the second watch list he's been featured on as he also was named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list on April 11.
  • The only Atlantic 10 player on either list, Hinchliffe leads the A-10 in saves (10) and appearances (21).
  • The closer is already fourth on the program's single season saves list and is only three away from the school record of 13 set by Pat Christensen.
