NEWARK, Del. – The La Salle softball team (12-31) couldn't hold a 3-0 lead as Delaware (22-26) mounted a comeback for a 5-4 victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Audrey LaBouliere launched her first career home run in the top of the first to put the Explorers on top, 2-0. A few batters later, rookie Cailey Joyce ripped an RBI single to push the lead to three.
• Delaware scored one in the second and third to pull within one.
• The Blue Hens sealed the game with a three-run sixth inning.

INSIDE THE CIRCLE:

• Sophomore Morgan Orlowski (4-15) pitched the first five innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits and a walk. She also struck out two.
• Joyce came on in relief and tossed a scoreless inning with a strikeout.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior Emma Schweigert led the team with a three-hit performance in three at bats. She also drew a walk and stole a base.
• Junior Emily Conaway and Joyce each recorded a pair of hits, Conway notched a double, while Joyce drove in a run.
• LaBouliere had the homer, a pair of RBIs, and a run scored.

UP NEXT:
La Salle concludes the 2019 season with a conference series against George Washington this weekend.
