Manyeah Breaks High Jump School Record on Final Day of NCAA East Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore Dennis Manyeah of the La Salle University men's track and field team broke his own school record in the high jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on Saturday.

Manyeah placed 15th out of 48, just missing out on advancing to the National Championships, with a new school record of 2.16 meters (7'1"). He finished 10th in the second flight and cleared 7'1" on his first attempt at it.

The rising sophomore made a major impact in his very first year with the team. He won gold in the high jump at the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Championships, breaking both school and conference records with a leap of 7'0.25". Manyeah swept the A-10 high jump this year as he took the indoor title as well, while posting four victories in the event throughout the year.
