AMHERST, Mass. – Sophomore Dennis Manyeah set both conference and school records as he won gold in the high jump for the La Salle men's track and field team on the opening day of the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.
 
WHERE THEY FINISHED

• After winning the high jump title at the A-10 Indoor Championships in February, Manyeah completed the season sweep with a record performance outdoors. With a leap of 2.14 meters (7'0.25"), he not only broke the school record but also tied the A-10 record. The program mark had been set since 1989 by John Kovatch (6'11.75"), while the league mark was set back in 2010 by Brian Miller of Massachusetts.
• Freshman Chris Lewis ran the fastest time in the 100-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 10.59 seconds to advance to Sunday's final. Lewis also advanced in the 200-meter dash, finishing fifth in the preliminaries with a time of 21.48 seconds.
• Junior Anthony Hawthorne moved on to the finals in the 800 meters after running in 1:51.78 for sixth in the preliminaries.
• Sophomore Dylan Burnett also moved on in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing his preliminary round sixth with a time of 14.85 seconds.
• Sophomore Ryan James finished ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a mark of 9:26.33, while classmate Joe Boyle wound up 14th in the 10,000 meters with a clip of 32:25.15.
