PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's soccer team will try to remain perfect at home when it welcomes Lafayette to McCarthy Stadium for a 7 p.m. match on Tuesday.
 
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE

• With their victory over LIU last Tuesday, the Explorers improved to 3-0 at home this season. Senior Pat McCarthy tallied his second game-winning goal of the year in the victory, while sophomore Nigel Buckley notched his fifth point and goalie Brett Werner notched his first collegiate shutout.
• La Salle has home victories over Iona (2-1), Robert Morris (3-1) and LIU (1-0) thus far.
• In those games, La Salle is outscoring its opponents 6-2.
• It's the best home start for the Explorers since the 2014 season when they started 3-0-1 on their home turf.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Explorers dropped their second road game of the year on Saturday, 2-0 at Rider.
• Brett Werner made a season-high seven saves in the defeat, but the Broncs outshot the Explorers 17-4.
• Freshman Isak Sedin registered two shots off the bench, while junior Aidan O'Brien and sophomore Omari Cotterell each put a shot on goal.

SCOUTING LAFAYETTE

• Like the Explorers, the Leopards are 3-0 at home but have yet to win on the road, standing at 3-1-1 overall.
• Lafayette tied with St. Francis Brooklyn, which handed La Salle its first loss of the season back on Sept. 3. The Leopards suffered their first loss of the season on Friday at Temple, 3-0.
• The Leopards have had balanced scoring, with seven different players finding the back of the net. Sebastian Varela leads the way with three goals, while Marcos Kitromilides has two tallies.
• Alex Sutton has played every minute in goal, posting a 0.96 goals against average and an .833 save percentage to go with two shutouts.
