PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's soccer team returns home to McCarthy Stadium for a non-conference matchup with the Robert Morris Colonials on Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
McCARTHY EARNS FIRST A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOD

• Senior captain Pat McCarthy started the year off by collecting the first Atlantic 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week award of the season.
• McCarthy helped seal a 2-1 victory over Iona in the season opener in front of a home crowd last Friday with the game-winning goal in the 78th minute.

ONE WEEK IN THE BOOKS

• With one full week of play in the books, La Salle enters the weekend with a 1-1 overall record.
• La Salle started the season with a thrilling home win that featured goals by McCarthy and redshirt freshman Colin Bateman. Sophomore Charlie Collins and freshman Franc Gamiz Quer tallied assists.
• The Explorers then dropped a 3-0 decision to a tough St. Francis Brooklyn squad on Tuesday in their first road match of the year. Sophomore Sam DeCencio registered three shots and goalie Brett Werner made four saves.

SCOUTING ROBERT MORRIS

• The Colonials have struggled through three matches so far, dropping to Oakland, Bowling Green and Cleveland State.
• Robert Morris has surrendered 11 goals over those three contests while finding the back of the net just once.
• Christian Coridon tallied the lone goal for the Colonials in their season opener on a penalty kick.
• Robert Morris has used all three of its goalkeepers thus far, with Grant Glorioso having the most success with five saves in a 2-0 loss to Bowling Green.

GETTING COMFY AT HOME

• Saturday marks the first of two consecutive home games for the Explorers, who play three of their next four contests at McCarthy Stadium.
• With a 2-1 home victory already under their belt, the Explorers will welcome the Colonials Saturday before hosting the LIU Sharks on Tuesday.
