Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Allen's Big Day Leads Field Hockey in 6-0 Rout of Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - La Salle University junior Rialee Allen scored a career-high four goals and added an assist as the Explorers used a five-goal first-half outburst to run away with a 6-0 win over Wagner on Sunday afternoon. The victory snapped a two-game losing skid and concludes a three-game stretch away from the newly resurfaced Hank DeVincent Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Allen began her day by helping out teammate Lauren Lechleitner on the game's first goal just 1:24 into the contest.
  • For Lechleitner, it was her second goal of the season and the goal would also serve as the eventual game winner.
  • In the seventh minute, Allen scored her first of the match off a rebound in front of the cage.
  • The score would be the first of three straight for the Woodbine, N.J. product, with the other two coming in the 22nd and 25th minutes.
  • Assists on those two tallies would go to freshman Noralie Pareau Dumont and sophomore Regan Dougherty, with the second coming directly off the insert of a penalty corner.
  • Just under three minutes later, freshman Casey Reilly scored the first goal of her collegiate career to close the scoring in the first half and give the Explorers a 5-0 lead prior to intermission.
  • Allen rounded out her outstanding afternoon with her final goal of the match, which came 2:54 into the third quarter.
  • Reilly was the facilitator this time, finding Allen for her first-career assist to put the score at 6-0.
  • From there, La Salle limited Wagner to just three shots the rest of the way and secured its second shutout win of the year.
  • Sophomore Cassie Kincaid had a pair of saves as she earned her second shutout of the season in goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The six goals in one match represented just the sixth time in the last decade that La Salle has scored six or more goals in a game.
  • The Explorers outshot the Seahawks, 34-3, including a resounding 18-0 margin in the first half.
  • Lechleitner and another senior, Amanda Chapin, led the team with six shots apiece.
  • Allen scored her four goals on just five shot attempts, all of which were on frame.
