PHILADELPHIA – Men's swimming & diving started the new decade with a win, defeating Monmouth on Wednesday 199-86. Senior

Zachary Wolbert combined for six of La Salle's 10 individual wins on the day.
MEET NOTES
- Both Forsgren and Wolbert picked up three wins each. The Swede claimed top times in the 50 Free (21.57), 100 Free (47.02) and 100 Breast (57.64). Wolbert outpaced the field in the 100 Fly (50.36), 200 Fly (1:50.77) and 200 IM (1:52.73)—the last of which was an exhibition swim.
- Junior Daniel Johnson also had an afternoon to note with a pair of wins, claiming the 200 Free (1:42.88) and 500 Free (4:43.13).
- Dyson's Day: freshman Cole Dyson recorded a few good results, headlined by a win in the 1000 Free (9:43.51). The rookie also touched second in the 500 Free and third in the 200 Free.
- Plenty of other freshmen came to swim against the Hawks. Trenton Burr and Alex Kuriawa flip-flopped results in the backstroke: Burr took second in the 100 yard and Kuriawa third, while Kuriawa finished second in the 200 yard and Burr third. Fellow rookies Sebastian Aguirre raced to second in the 200 Fly and Matthew Brajuka finished third in the 500 Free.
- The other first-place result of the day came from senior Christoff Ras in the 200 Breast (2:05.12). Ras also landed second in the 100 Breast and 200 IM.
- The men went one-two in the 400 Medley Relay to begin the meet and had the top time in the 200 Free Relay as well (exhibition swim).
COACH'S TAKE
- Head coach Jamie Platt spoke after the victory: "It was great to be back competing. It was even better to see the hard work paying off. We have set our expectations high and I am excited to see these women and men get after it."
UP NEXT
- The Explorers hit the road for away meets at Fordham on Saturday and Loyola (Md.) on Monday. They then return home for Senior Day vs. Seton Hall on the 25th.
