Men's Track and Field | January 15, 2020

PHILADELPHIARemington Blair has joined the La Salle University track and field program as an assistant coach, head coach Tom Peterson announced on Thursday. Blair's primary responsibilities will be focusing on the men's and women's jumps and sprints.

"We're really excited to bring Remington on," said Peterson. "I'm excited to see what he can get out of not only the returners but the freshmen as well."

"I am very excited to be stepping into a team with such great talent," said Blair, who brings over 10 years of competitive track and field experience to the Explorers, including four years as a Division I coach.

Blair comes to La Salle after spending two years in a similar position as an assistant coach at the University of Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference. While with the Bears, he worked closely with the men's and women's jumps events.

Prior to Northern Colorado, Blair spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Fresno State. A former track star during his collegiate days as a student-athlete at Fresno, Blair returned to his alma mater to coach the men's and women's sprints, hurdles and relays. He also spent three years coaching the track and field teams at San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, including one season as head coach.

During his collegiate days, Blair was a two-year letterwinner in track at Fresno State. He was a two-time NCAA outdoor preliminary qualifier in the 400 meters and won a WAC title in the 4x400-meter relay.

Blair holds multiple USA Track and Field certifications and earned his bachelor's in philosophy from Fresno State in May of 2012.
