PHILADELPHIA – Men's swimming & diving maintained its 2020 winning streak with a 198.5 – 99.5 victory over Seton Hall on Senior Day. The Explorers controlled the meet with 14 wins, going 1-2 on nine occasions. The graduating class of 2020 tallied three of those wins through seniors
Christoff Ras (twice) and
Norm Gregory (once).
MEET NOTES
- Ras picked up his victories in the 100 and 200 Breast, clocking 57.29 in the former and 2:05.12 in the latter. He also tallied second place in the 200 IM.
- Gregory claimed the 200 Free with a time of 1:40.42. He also finished runner up in the 50 Free and 100 Free.
- Sophomore Zachary Wolbert led La Salle with three wins, outpacing the field in the 100 Fly (50.41), 200 Fly (1:49.46) and 200 IM (1:53.74).
- Freshman Sam Henninger won both of his events in the 1-meter (285.98) and 3-meter (322.73). Sophomore Steven Stasolla followed him up in both events.
- Other Explorers with one win on the day include juniors Daniel Johnson in the 100 Free (46.36) and Isaiah Gregory in the 50 Free (21.60), sophomore Ian Venter in the 100 Back (50.46) and freshman Cole Dyson in the 1000 Free (9:36.96).
- The Blue & Gold also took both relays on Saturday. A team of Wolbert, Johnson, Venter and senior Marcus Forsgren claimed the 200 Medley (1:32.67), while the quartet of Forsgren, Venter, N. Gregory and Johnson) won the 400 Free (3:06.18).
COACH'S TAKE
- Head coach Jamie Platt was optimistic after the win, saying: "It was a great celebration and send off for our senior class. Both teams thrived in this meet on the boards and in the pool. The end of the season is coming quick and I like how we are preparing for success."
