Men's Basketball Hosts Saint Louis at Gola Arena on Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle men's basketball rounds out the month of January with a home meeting with Saint Louis at Tom Gola Arena on Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m., with all of the action available on the ESPN+ Digital Network. Kale Beers and former Explorer Fran Dunphy are on the call. 

The first 400 students in attendance will receive a free t-shirt, and all La Salle students are welcome to stick around after the game for a post-game dance party on the arena floor. The Hideaway Tent is also open to patrons beginning at 6:30 p.m.

NEWS & NOTES
•The game is the second straight at home for the Explorers, who are looking to snap a five-game losing skid and a three-game streak at Tom Gola Arena.
•Against VCU on Jan. 25, juniors David Beatty and Scott Spencer each had 16 points in a 76-65 defeat.
•The Explorers trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half but cut the margin to just three on two separate occasions in the second.
•Beatty had 11 of his 16 points and sophomore Ed Croswell scored all 11 of his points in the period. 
•In the game against the Rams, La Salle collected 10 steals which marked the fifth time this season the team has recorded 10 or more steals in a game.
•Through seven A-10 games, the Explorers pace all teams in the league at 8.86 steals per game.
•Individually, Croswell is second during conference contests in offensive rebounds per game (4.0) and sixth in field goal percentage (.523).

SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS
•The Billikens enter with a 15-5 overall record are 4-3 in Atlantic 10 play.
•This past Sunday, they defeated Fordham by a 55-39 margin, with the 39 points allowed marking the best defensive performance by an A-10 team in conference this season.
•Jordan Goodwin ranks sixth in the A-10 in points per game at 15.6 and is the top rebounder in the league at 10.9 rpg despite his 6-3 height.
•Hasahn French is also averaging double-figure rebounds per game at 10.3, which stands second in the league.
•Freshman Yuri Collins is the top distributor offensively and is second in the conference at 5.7 apg.

ALL-TIME SERIES vs. SLU
•This will be the 26th all-time meeting between La Salle and Saint Louis, with the Billikens leading the series, 16-9.
•La Salle is 5-5 all-time at home against Saint Louis and 4-5 at Tom Gola Arena.
•The two teams have met every season since 2005-06.
•The first ever meeting between La Salle and Saint Louis was in the 1951 NIT.
•La Salle beat Saint Louis twice during its 1953-54 NCAA Championship season.
•Last season at Tom Gola Arena, Isiah Deas and Jack Clark each scored 14 points apiece in a 71-64 defeat to the Billikens.
•In their last meeting a season ago, Ed Croswell had a 10-point, 14-rebound double-double and Saul Phiri had 12 points and three steals in a 62-49 setback at Saint Louis.
