Men's Swimming and Diving | January 31, 2020

PHILADELPHIA – Swimming & diving wraps up its regular season with the Villanova Sprint Fest on Saturday at noon. The meet precedes the A-10 Championships that takes place 18 days later.
 
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS

• The men's team enters the local contest having won all four of its meets this semester, while the women have gone 3-2, victorious in its last two.
• The Explorers as a whole dominated the last week, winning out. Senior Christoff Ras and sophomores Zachary Wolbert, Sara Rizzetto and Anne Moser headlined for the Blue & Gold.
• Wolbert won all the events he competed in (totaling six), controlling the 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 200 IM.
• Moser paced the women's team in the distance races, touching first in the 500 Free and 1000 Free.
• Rizzetto tallied five individual wins with a pair of wins in the 200 Back and 200 IM, plus a victory in the 200 Free.
• Ras had a solid final week, totaling four victories and winning out in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast.
• Pacing the freshman class were Toni Rafferty (four wins) on the women's side and Cole Dyson (two wins) for the men.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS

• Villanova's women's team has had a strong year yet again, powering to a 7-2 record. The men's team has recorded a 2-6 mark.
• The men's team is currently on a three-meet losing streak, while the women dropped its last meet to Penn State, but won the four previous to that.
• Villanova will be gearing up for the Big East Championships that take place later in the month.
