Men's Basketball Releases 2020-21 Non-Conference Schedule

MBB Schedule Release

Men's Basketball | November 9, 2020

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's basketball team announced the non-conference portion of its 2020-21 schedule on Monday. The Explorers will begin the season at The Lapchick Tournament in New York City on Nov. 26-27, and face host St. John's on Thanksgiving Day.

The Red Storm will play a third, yet-to-be-named team on Nov. 25, with that same school serving as La Salle's opponent on Friday, Nov. 27. That game is a prelude to a stretch of four straight road contests that begins on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Howard.

La Salle will take a trip down Broad Street to face Big 5 foe Temple on Sunday, Dec. 6, before squaring off against another local opponent in Drexel on Saturday, Dec. 12. The final tilt of the road swing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Towson.

The lone home game of the 2020-21 non-league slate is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19, as the Explorers host Delaware at Tom Gola Arena. That contest leads into a trip to reigning Big Ten regular-season champion Maryland on Dec. 22, the final tuneup before the bulk of Atlantic 10 play begins.

Game times and television assignments will be released at a later date. Please stay tuned to GoExplorers.com and the department's social media channels for the latest information on attendance and ticketing.

Head coach Ashley Howard enters his third season at the helm of a La Salle program that has risen steadily since he began his tenure. Last year, the Explorers captured the Gulf Coast Showcase title by defeating three teams who would go on to win 20+ games - Murray State (23), Wright State (25) and South Alabama (20).

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic ending the year abruptly, La Salle had won four of its final six Atlantic 10 games of the regular season, including victories over St. Bonaventure, George Washington and Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's.
