PHILADELPHIA – The Atlantic 10 Championships are finally here as La Salle swimming & diving looks to make its mark in Geneva, Ohio. Action begins Wednesday and concludes on Saturday with all events—prelims and finals—being broadcasted on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- The women finished this season with a 5-5 record, while the men concluded with a 5-4 mark.
- Last time at A-10s, the men's team finished fifth with a score of 373 and the women seventh with 232.5 points. A total of seven school records were broken in 2019.
- Sophomore Zachary Wolbert cemented his stellar freshman year by being named Most Outstanding Rookie Performer at last year's Championships. His 200 Fly mark of 1:46.86 is the current conference and school record.
- Along with Wolbert, seniors Norm Gregory, Marcus Forsgren and Christoff Ras have made their marks this year and set aims high in their final year at A-10s. Daniel Johnson has had an impressive junior year, while sophomore Ian Venter has also performed strongly in the backstroke.
- On the women's side, senior Emily Wolbert and sophomore Sara Rizzetto have already broken school records this season and will look for a few more in Geneva. Sophomore Anne Moser has been a consistent long-distance threat for La Salle and classmate Phoebe Shaya has excelled on the boards.
- The Blue & Gold has seen a lot from its rookie class this campaign. Sam Henninger and Cole Dyson have both collected A-10 Men's Rookie of the Week, while Lauren Fenn has picked up the accolade for the women. Toni Rafferty, who joined in the Spring, is another to watch in the sprint.
