HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams went back-and-forth in the opening frame and concluded the first all tied at 2-2.
- The Red Flash responded the stronger of the two sides in the second quarter, outscoring La Salle 3-1.
- The third period was tightly contested with Saint Francis carrying the edge, 3-2.
- With the Explorers down by three heading into the final frame, the Blue & Gold rallied and outscored its opponent 4-2 but couldn't find a tenth goal to force overtime.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- DeLisle has proven to be La Salle's chief provider yet again. Her six dishes brought her tally to 21 on the season, assisting 42.9% of all goals in 2020.
- Senior Katelynn Kubo and junior Karle Linden were the other Explorers with multiple goals against the Red Flash, scoring twice each. The pair were also tied for the team lead in blocks with two apiece.
- Freshman Caitlin Valentine split time in net, recording five saves on 10 shots.
