Baseball Continues Road Stretch with Series at Wofford, Tuesday Game at Rider

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University baseball team will remain on the road for its next four games with a three-game weekend series at Wofford, followed by a Tuesday game at Rider.
 
MATCHUP INFO LAST TIME OUT
  • The Explorers played their first midweek game of the season on Wednesday, falling 9-5 at Delaware State.
  • La Salle led 5-2 in the fifth before the Hornets scored the game's final seven runs.
  • Freshman Dylan Maria hit his first collegiate home run and went 2-for-4 with two runs.
  • Sophomore Tatem Levins drove in three runs and was 2-for-4, while junior Alfonse Sadallah also went 2-for-4 with a run. Junior shortstop Tommy Toal also made his first appearance coming back from injury.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
  • Wofford is on a three-game winning streak and stands at 10-3 on the season, with all 10 wins coming at home.
  • The Terriers exploded for 23 runs on 22 hits in a lopsided win over Presbyterian in their last outing.
  • Wofford's offense has been a well-oiled machine through 13 games with a team batting average of .323 with all nine starters hitting .275 or higher. Lawson Hill leads the way with a .586/.657/.724 slash line, while Hudson Byorick is batting .378 and Alec Cargin has 19 RBI.
  • Josh Vitus (0-1, 3.38 ERA) is the Friday starting pitcher, while Hayes Heinecke (2-1, 2.29 ERA) is slated for Saturday. As a team, the Terriers own a 3.55 ERA.
SCOUTING RIDER
  • Rider enters the weekend at 6-4 overall and will have a three-game series at Delaware before matching up with the Explorers.
  • It will be the first home game for the Broncs, who dropped two of three games at James Madison over the weekend.
  • Scott Shaw leads the team with a .385 batting average, but Rider is hitting just .244 as a team.
