PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's basketball team will wrap up the regular season with its final Big 5 game of the season at Saint Joseph's on Saturday. Tip-off from Hagan Arena is set for 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
NEWS & NOTES
- The Explorers dropped their home finale to Massachusetts Wednesday night at Tom Gola Arena, 75-64.
- Junior David Beatty tallied career highs in points (20) and steals (4) while matching his career best with six assists.
- Beatty finished the game 4-of-6 from downtown over 36 minutes, matching his season high in both three-pointers made and minutes.
- Senior Saul Phiri also tallied a career high in steals with four, moving his career total to 97, while adding 13 points and matching his season best with eight rebounds.
- Sophomore Jared Kimbrough made his second consecutive start and shot 5-for-6 from the floor for 10 points along with five offensive rebounds, a block and a steal.
- Due to injuries, only seven Explorers saw action in the game.
- Senior Isiah Deas, who is 27 points away from 1,000 for his career, played limited minutes due to illness.
ATLANTIC 10 IMPLICATIONS
- La Salle will be playing for positioning in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
- A win over Saint Joe's coupled with a loss by George Washington at Dayton would land the Explorers the #10 seed.
- A loss against Saint Joe's coupled with a win by George Mason at Fordham would leave the Explorers as the #12 seed.
- The Explorers would be the #11 seed with either a win over the Hawks and a George Washington win at Dayton, or a loss to Saint Joe's and a loss by George Mason to Fordham.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
- The Hawks enter their Senior Day game 6-24 overall and 2-15 in the Atlantic 10.
- Saint Joseph's dropped its final road game at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, 89-73. Cameron Brown had 21 points and Ryan Daly added 20 points in the defeat.
- In their last home game, the Hawks edged out Fordham, 73-69, as Daly's 21 points led four Hawks in double figures.
- Daly leads the A-10 in scoring at 20.2 points per game and also leads the Hawks in rebounding (7.0 rpg), assists (4.3 apg) and steals (1.2 apg).
- Brown (10.1 ppg), Myles Douglas (8.1 ppg) and Lorenzo Edwards (7.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg) have all played in every game for Saint Joe's.
