PHILADELPHIA – Ali Sanders has been hired as an assistant women's basketball coach, completing head coach
Mountain MacGillivray's staff, the third-year head coach announced on Wednesday.
"We are really excited to have Ali join our staff," MacGillivray said. "She adds skills and a perspective to our staff that will really make us better. Our players will really enjoy learning from Ali and the energy she is going to bring to our team."
Sanders comes to 20
th & Olney after a one-year stint at Penn State as the Lady Lions' Director of Video and Recruiting Operations and Interim Assistant Coach. Sanders played a role in international recruiting & recruit evaluations, and was directly responsible for content creation, mailouts, and opponent scouting, among other tasks.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work at La Salle under Coach Mountain," Sanders said. "This program is headed to new heights and I look forward to teaching and mentoring these amazing young women each day."
Prior to landing in Happy Valley, she spent the 2018-19 season as the video coordinator at Marquette. Sanders' role at Marquette included serving as the coordinator of technology, graphics & videos, assisting with scouting, social media, recruiting operations and the creative team.
Before Marquette, the Sleepy Hollow, Ill. native spent two seasons at the University of Florida where she was the assistant video coordinator and graduate assistant. Sanders assisted with practice, special events, recruiting visits, and scouting, while also working on the creative side with graphics and videos.
The Southeastern University alumnus graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor's degree in secondary biology. Sanders captained the women's basketball team during her one year in Lakeland, Fla. and led the Fire to both a regular season and tournament title in The Sun Conference.
Before transferring to Southeastern, she played at Florida Southern where she was a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic Division II Women's Basketball All-District selection and a member of the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
