PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Baptiste has named Christine Pereira as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, he announced on Monday.

Pereira comes to Philadelphia after spending the last two years at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where she served as the Director of Compliance.

"We are excited for Christine to join the La Salle family," Baptiste said. "The experience she has gained at three different Division I institutions, as well as the customer-service approach she brings from her prior career, will ensure that our coaches, student-athletes, staff, and campus community are supported in the critical area of compliance."

During her time at UNLV, Pereira was the primary compliance contact for the football, soccer, golf, and track & field programs, working directly with the sport programs in handling the day-to-day compliance responsibilities. She worked directly with conference and national offices on waiver and petition submissions, and was the primary liaison with student housing on all incoming student-athlete dorm and meal request.

"I am thrilled to join the La Salle Athletics family and am thankful to Brian Baptiste and the entire search committee for this opportunity," Pereira said. "I am eager to engage with and provide support for our tremendous student-athletes, coaches and staff as we pursue continued excellence at La Salle!"

Pereira is no stranger to the Atlantic 10, having worked at the University of Richmond from 2016-18 as an assistant compliance coordinator. She focused on waivers, camps and clinics, donation requests and bylaws 15, 16, & 17 while with UR, and also worked with Banner, CAi and ARMS to maintain coding for over 350 student-athletes.

Prior to Richmond, Pereira got her start in the athletic compliance realm at Northeastern University as a graduate assistant. She spent two years with the Huskies and was tasked with responsibilities in the areas of recruiting, initial eligibility, continuing eligibility, playing & practice seasons, and rules education.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Pereira also earned her master's degree in Sports Leadership from Northeastern.
