NEWS & NOTES
•The Explorers saw their two-game win streak come to an end on Saturday at the hands of UMass, dropping an 83-67 decision on the road.

Scott Spencer kept La Salle close down 14-11 eight minutes into the game, but it was all UMass after that.
•The Minutemen used three different runs to pull ahead early, including a 12-0 run to close out the first half with a demanding 45-21 halftime lead.
•UMass kept their distance in the second half, as the Explorers would only come within 15 points the rest of the way.
•Freshman
Anwar Gill was the lone bright spot for La Salle, putting together a team-high 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting as well as five rebounds and two steals.
•Senior
David Beatty also scored in double figures for the second straight game with 11 points to go with a pair of steals.
•The game was won on the glass and at the foul line, with the Minutemen holding a 43- 33 rebounding edge and shooting 23 more free throws than the Explorers.
•La Salle had entered the game on the heels of two big Atlantic 10 victories, snapping Dayton's 20-game A-10 win streak with a 67-65 road win over the Flyers and following it up with a 37-point victory over Fordham at home.
SCOUTING GEORGE MASON
•The Patriots enter the week at 5-5 overall and 1-3 in league play, while they have gone 2-3 on their home court.
•George Mason has lost three straight games, on the road against Dayton and at home vs. VCU and Richmond.
•On Saturday, the Patriots fell victim to A-10 leader Richmond in a 77-57 route at home. A.J. Wilson led the Patriots with 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
•Jordan Miller leads the team with 15.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while Tyler Kolek adds 11.3 points and Wilson leads the A-10 with 2.8 blocks per contest.
•The Patriots rank 11th in the league in both scoring (69.6 ppg) and defense (72.0 ppg).
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. GEORGE MASON (MASON LEADS 5-2)
•This will be just the eighth meeting between La Salle and George Mason.
•The two teams have played once a season since 2013-14.
•La Salle is 0-3 during its three visits to George Mason.
•The Patriots have won three of the last four meetings, including the last two.
•Last season at Tom Gola Arena, La Salle trailed by just three at halftime, but George Mason started the second half on a 14-0 run and shot 53.6 percent in the period to solidify the 76-63 victory.
•La Salle's last win over George Mason came in 2018 when the Explorers overcame a 16-point deficit to earn a 69-62 victory at home.
ANWAR THE ATTACKER
•Freshman
Anwar Gill has carved out a significant role in the Explorers' rotation, scoring in double figures four times and starting in each of the last three games.
•Most recently, Gill led the Explorers with 14 points on a season-best 7-of-14 shooting effort to go with five rebounds and two steals at UMass.
•Earlier this season in an 80-62 win over Lincoln, the 6-4 guard did a bit of everything, tallying 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
•The next game, a win at Drexel, the Washington, D.C. native posted a game-high 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting along with eight rebounds in 24 minutes of action.
•He also had 12 points and six rebounds in a Big Ten road test against Maryland three games later. •The do-it-all guard has tallied 5+ rebounds four times and 5+ assists twice.
