Women’s Basketball Takes on GW and Mason at Home this Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (6-7, 2-4 A-10) are geared up to host a pair of games this weekend against George Washington (4-7, 1-4 A-10) on Friday at 6 p.m. and George Mason (3-9, 0-5 A-10) on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both games will stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally through the Atlantic 10.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • La Salle has won three of its last four games to enter this weekend at 6-7, 2-4 A-10.
  • The Explorers are led by sophomore Claire Jacobs who is scoring 15.2 ppg and corralling a team best 5.2 rpg. Jacobs has registered 10 or more points in 20 of her last 22 games, including 15+ in eight of 12 games this season. The Perth, Australia native also paces the Blue & Gold in steals with 23 and 1.9 per game.
  • Junior Kayla Spruill is second on the squad in both scoring (11.4) and rebounding (4.5). Spruill is the reigning Big 5 Player of the Week after averaging 20.0 ppg in just 21.5 mpg, while shooting 57.9% from the floor, 60.0% from deep, and 85.7% from the line.
  • Junior Molly Masciantonio rounds out the top trio of scorers for La Salle with 8.2 points per game.
  • Sophomore Jordon Lewis (6.8 ppg) and senior Kate Hill (6.2 ppg) conclude the group above six points on average.
  • A total of nine Explorers are scoring at least four points per game.
  • Collectively, La Salle is averaging 64.4 points per outing and allowing 67.3.
  • The Blue & Gold are shooting 37.3% from the field, 29.3% from three-point range, and 72.6% from the stripe.
  • La Salle leads the A-10 in assists, steals, three-point field goals attempted, and three-point field goals made.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS:
  • George Washington is 4-7, 1-4 A-10 heading into Friday's game.
  • The Colonials are led by a trio of scorers averaging eight points or more per game. Neila Luma (11.0), Ali Brigham (10.8), and Jasmine Whitney (8.1) make up that group.
  • As a unit, GW is scoring 56.4 ppg and allow 58.6.
  • The squad is shooting 35.5% overall, 18.0% from deep, and 68.0% from the stripe.
SERIES HISTORY – GEORGE WASHINGTON:
