OLEAN, N.Y. - After a scoreless 78 minutes, Omari Cotterell found the back of the net for the game-winning goal against St. Bonaventure on Saturday night. La Salle defeated the Bonnies 1-0.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Just 12 minutes into play, the Explorers saw their first scoring opportunity with back-to-back corners. Scott Beeks took the initial shot at the goal. The ball was punched out by the St. Bonaventure goalkeeper to Omari Cotterell at the top of the box who dumped it to Eoghan McGovern. The Bonnies defense pushed it out to give La Salle a second corner attempt.  
• St. Bonaventure tried to get the advantage in the 25th minute with a shot from Matthew Wrobel that was broken up by McGovern in the box.  
• Charlie Collins took a long-range shot at the net leading to another corner for the Explorers. Justin Brunow took the shot putting the ball just high of the goal.  
• A free kick for La Salle headed out by the Bonnie's defense led to La Salle's eighth corner attempt in the 56th minute. Aimar Leunda-Etxeberria headed the ball toward the goal sending it just high of the net.  
• Dominick Bachstein saw his chance at the net with a breakaway in the 58th minute. St. Bonaventure's Jacob Jashinski chased down Bachstein to send the ball out of bounds just out front of the net.  
• Junior Nare crossed the ball to Brunow in the 61st minute at the top right of the box. Brunow worked past two defenders into the middle, but sent the shot wide right of the net.  
• Leunda-Etxeberria held off the Bonnies' scoring opportunity in the 71st minute kicking out a right-footed shot from the left side by Wrobel.  
• The Explorers broke the 0-0 standstill in the 78th minute when Omari Cotterell found the right of the net from the far-left side for the game-winning goal.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

• La Salle out-shot the Bonnies 17-6, placing six shots on net to St. Bonaventure's three.  
• The Explorers recorded 10 corners in the game while the Bonnies recorded seven.  
• The game-winning goal marks Cotterell's first of the season and is his third goal overall.  
• Mitch Foster recorded the entire 90 minutes in net and made three saves, tying his season-high.  

UP NEXT:  

• La Salle returns to McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 20 to take on hometown, Atlantic-10 rival Saint Joseph's. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Explorers will honor their 10 seniors prior to the game.
