Philadelphia, Pa. - The La Salle men's soccer team returns home to McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 20 to take on Atlantic 10 and Philly Six rival Saint Joseph's.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the Explorers will be honorng their 10 seniors before the game. Students will also have the opportunity to receive a free Gold Rush shirt.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle enters the game following a shutout on the road against St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Oct. 16.
- The Explorers logged seven corner attempts in the first half, but they couldn't find the back of the net. After a scoreless 78 minutes, Omari Cotterell found the right corner of the net from the far left for the game-winning goal.
- La Salle out-shot St. Bonaventure 17-6 in the game and recorded 10 total corners.
- Junior Nare leads the scoring effort for La Salle this season with four goals. Nigel Buckley and Cotterell come in close second with three goals apiece.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS:
- St. Joe's enters the contest off a 3-1 victory at home against Duquesne on Saturday, Oct. 16.
- Duquesne got the first goal of the game, but it was less than a minute before the Hawks' Blake Driehuis tied the game.
- Garrett Lyons gave St. Joe's the lead with the penalty kick in the 64th minute and Omry Perel followed with an insurance goal in the 77th minute.
- James Feltcher and Lyons lead the attack for the Hawks with four goals apiece this season.
