NEW YORK, N.Y. – The La Salle men' soccer team looks to rally back on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Columbia. Due to impending weather in the area, kickoff is set for 4 p.m. instead of the previously scheduled 7 p.m. start time.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle enters the contest following a 3-1 loss on the road to Rhode Island on Saturday, Oct. 23.
- The Rams got off to a 2-0 lead by the 41st minute of the game. Junior Nare brought the Explorers back within one-point of the lead in the 66th minute. Nare beat the Rhode Island defense and created enough space for the right-footed shot at the goal.
- A foul on La Salle set the Rams up for a free kick right out front of the net. The shot went clear over the wall and into the goal to give Rhode Island the 3-1 victory.
- Nare leads the scoring effort for the Explorers with five goals in 14 games.
- Mitch Foster has started and played the entire 90 minutes in the last three contests for the Explorers making 11 saves in the three games.
SCOUTING THE LIONS:
- Columbia enters the game following a 1-1- draw in double overtime at Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 23.
- The Lions took the 1-0 lead in the 38th minute and held on until the final seconds of regulation when Dartmouth capitalized on the Lions' its man-down disadvantage tying the game and forcing overtime with just 46 seconds remaining.
- Jake Novoshelski leads the attack for the Lions with two goals on the season. Five other Lions each hold one goal apiece.
- Michael Collodi has played 11 games in the net this season totaling over 1,000 minutes of playing time and 55 saves.
