PHILADELPHIA – La Salle men's and women's swimming & diving will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 6 when they host Seton Hall in a dual meet at 1 p.m. at Kirk Pool.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS SWIMMERS:
- La Salle enters the weekend dual with two events under their belt, most recently competing in a home dual against Drexel.
- The women's team (0-1) fell by a final of 168-130, while the men's team (0-1) lost 167-94.
- Senior Zachary Wolbert picked up an individual win for the Explorers in the meet, finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.54.
- La Salle's 400-yard freestyle team of Wolbert, Alex Kuriawa, Zack Miller, and Trenton Burr placed second, clocking in at 3:08.96.
- Burr placed second in the men's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.67, just 0.3 seconds off the lead.
- Anne Moser picked up a win against Drexel for La Salle in the women's 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:34.81
- Toni Rafferty's 2:11.74 was good for the top spot in the women's 200-yard butterfly.
- Sara Rizzetto picked up a win in the women's 200-yard individual medley, clocking in at 2:10.60.
- In the women's 400-yard freestyle relay, the Explorers' team of Rafferty, Brynn Peterson, Moser, and Rizzetto finished second with a time of 3:35.76.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS DIVERS:
- In the women's one-meter, La Salle took the top four spots led by a first-place finish from Julie D'Amore at 240.60.
- Phoebe Shaya followed in second at 234.90, while Erica Kenski slotted in third with a score of 229.75.
- In the women's three-meter, Shaya, D'Amore, and Kenski took the top three spots with scores of 290.10, 268.27, and 248.62 respectively. Smykowski's exhibition score of 229.80 would have placed her in fourth in the field.
- Divers Steven Stasolla and Sam Henninger were dominant once again for the Explorers, as the pair finished first and second in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES:
- Seton Hall women's swimming & diving enters with a record of 2-1, most recently beating Monmouth 172-91.
- The Pirates also tallied a win in their season opener against Rider, 174-88.
- Seton Hall's women's team won 14 of 16 events against Monmouth, including the top four spots in the 400 IM highlighted by Allie Waggoner's 4:33.77.
- Having already competed in three duals, Seton Hall men's swimming and diving enters the meet with a record of 1-2.
- After dropping their opening two duals to Rider and Army, the Pirates bounced back with a win over Monmouth in their last outing, 155-115.
