LORETTO, Pa. -  The La Salle women's basketball team hits the road for its final of three road contests in the last week as the squad heads to Saint Francis University to take on the Red Flash on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

• La Salle enters the game following a 1-0 week fresh off its victory against Big Five foe Penn at the Palestra. The Explorers are now 4-3 on the season and 1-2 on the road.
• The Explorers trailed by six at the end of the third frame, but a 26-6 effort in the final 10 minutes put La Salle ahead of the Quakers for the 63-49 victory.
• Senior Kayla Spruill paced the fourth quarter for La Salle scoring 11 of her 17 points of the night in the frame. The double-digit scoring effort marks her fifth of the season in seven games played. Spruill also set a new season- record from the line shooting 8-of-8 (1.000). She is the first Explorer to shoot 100% (minimum of five attempts) from the free throw line this season. She was also the last Explorer to do it going 6-of-6 against St. Bonaventure on Jan. 15, 2021.
• Senior Molly Masciantonio tied her season-high points total with nine. She set the tone early in the fourth quarter of the contest against Penn with back-to-back threes. She led the Explorers in assists with six and continues to be the leading helping hand this season averaging 4.7 assists per game.
• Freshman Kenya Côté- Lysius set a new career-high in the game with nine points on 4-of-6 shooting, marking a new career-high in field goals made.
• Sophomore Jaye Haynes pulled down a career-high eight boards in the contest. She is averaging 5.0 rebounds per game, the second most on the team.
• As a group, the Explorers are shooting 35.3% from the field, 29.4% from the long range and 78.8% from the line.

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH:

• Saint Francis is currently 0-6 this season with its most recent loss coming at Bucknell. The Red Flash dropped the contest 68-31 scoring just 13 points in the second half.
• Jada Dapaa is the team's leading rebounder having 12-rebound games through the team's first six contests. She currently has a conference-leading 8.3 rebounds per game.
• Jenna Mallstone led the scoring effort for the Red Flash in the contest against Bucknell with a team-high 15 points, just one point shy of her career-high total.
• Kaitlyn Maxwell has recorded two 15-plus point games this season, including a career-high 21 point game against Temple.

SERIES HISTORY:

• La Salle and Saint Francis have only come face-to-face once before in program history. The Explorers hold the 1-0 advantage over the Red Flash after a 75-70 victory in Tom Gola Arena last season.
• Lead scorer for the Red Flash in the Dec. 5, 2020 matchup, Mallstone, returns to the lineup for Saint Francis alongside La Salle leading scorer in the contest, Kayla Spruill.
