PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's basketball team was just seconds away from victory at Saint Joseph's on Saturday, but a goaltending call on the final play of the second half forced overtime, where the Hawks would prevail, 91-82. Sophomore

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Redshirt sophomore Jack Clark scored five quick points to push La Salle ahead 9-4 in the early going before the Hawks worked a 7-1 run to sneak in front by one.
- La Salle responded with seven straight points though and held a 17-11 advantage at the under-12 media timeout and pushed the lead to eight after an and-one layup by junior Jared Kimbrough.
- The Explorers stretched the lead to 10 at 29-19 on a jumper by sophomore Sherif Kenney, however, Saint Joseph's stormed back and ended the half on an 18-5 run to sneak ahead at the break, 37-34.
- Saint Joseph's stretched the difference to eight, 52-44, on a Ray Daly jumper, but a Kimbrough dunk started a 6-0 run for the Explorers to make it a two-point game, 52-50 with 13:16 to go.
- Freshman Jhamir Brickus scored six quick points and Kenney evened the score at 61 apiece on an old-fashioned three-point play.
- A breakaway slam by Clark gave the Explorers the momentum to push in from by three on a jumper by sophomore Christian Ray, 68-65, with 6:25 left.
- The Hawks pushed a 10-0 run to take a seven-point lead, but the Explorers responded with nine straight points to take a 77-75 lead with three seconds left. However, Saint Joseph's went the length of the court and benefitted from a goaltending call that forced overtime with things knotted a 77.
- In the extra frame, La Salle held a one-point lead with less than three minutes left before Saint Joseph's went on a 10-0 run to take full command and snatch the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Five Explorers scored in double figures led by Ray's second career double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Kimbrough also doubled up with 12 points and 10 boards.
- Brickus scored 17 points over a career-high 41 minutes and added six assists, five rebounds and a career-best five steals. Kenney tallied 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Clark chipped in 11 points and six boards.
- It was another tough shooting day for the Explorers, going just 3-for-26 from three-point territory and shooting only 68.0 percent from the foul line.
- Ryan Daly played in his first game in nearly two months for the Hawks, netting a game-high 30 points.
