FAIRFAX, Va. – Junior Jared Kimbrough scored a game-high 21 points, but the La Salle men's basketball team concluded its regular season schedule with an 89-54 setback at George Mason on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Senior David Beatty scored the first basket of the game on a three-pointer, and a jumper by Kimbrough later made it a 5-5 game.
• George Mason captured the lead from there though and never looked back, using a 16-4 run to jump out to a 21-9 advantage midway through the first half.
• Back-to-back buckets from Kimbrough got La Salle within eight, but the Explorers never came closer than that as Mason scored 11 straight points and then stretched its lead to 47-23 at halftime.
• The second half was more of the same, with the Patriots opening up the period on a 13-5 run and keeping La Salle's offense in check, as the deficit was too much for the Explorers to overcome on the road.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Kimbrough shot 9-for-13 from the floor, including his first career three-pointer, and added a pair of blocked shots as well.
• Beatty chipped in 12 points and fellow senior Scott Spencer tallied 10 points and five rebounds.
• George Mason shot 54.0 percent overall and 50.0 percent from the three-point line, while holding La Salle to 37.9 percent shooting from the field and 22.7 percent from three.
• The Patriots easily won the turnover battle, forcing 15 Explorer turnovers while giving it away just seven times, and held a 35-28 advantage on the boards as well.
